It consistently produces prose that needs less cleanup than rivals, which is why writers and analysts gravitate to it.
For developers, Claude Pro includes Claude Code, which handles multi-file changes and large-codebase reasoning well. If you code for hours a day you may hit Pro's limits and want Max ($100 for roughly 5x, $200 for roughly 20x). Most people doing an hour or two of focused work never need to upgrade, so it is worth tracking your usage for a few weeks before paying more.
The honest trade-off is scope: Claude does not generate images or video, so if that matters you will pair it with something else. But for anyone whose work is words and code, it is the strongest $20 subscription on this list, and a natural counterpart to ChatGPT rather than a straight replacement.
