Notion AI Review (2026)
AI built into the Notion workspace for notes, docs and databases.
Our verdict
Worth it if you already live in Notion and want AI on your own content. If you are choosing an AI tool on its own merits, a standalone assistant does more for the money.
Visit Notion AI →Notion AI's advantage is context: instead of copying text into a separate tool, it works directly on the notes, docs and databases you already keep in Notion. For teams standardized on Notion, that removes real friction and makes summarizing, drafting and querying your own content fast and natural.
In 2026 Notion retired the standalone $10 AI add-on and folded AI into its paid plans, so full access effectively comes with Business at $20 per user a month. That is fine if you are already committed to Notion, but as a pure AI assistant its generation is weaker than ChatGPT or Claude, which cost about the same and do more outside your workspace. Pay for Notion AI because you live in Notion, not because you are shopping for an AI tool.
Notion AI pricing (July 2026)
Notion's free plan includes limited AI use; full AI is now bundled into paid plans rather than sold as a standalone add-on.
| Plan | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | Limited AI |
| Business | $20/user/mo | Full Notion AI included |
| Enterprise | Custom | Governance and security |
Pros
- ✓ Works in-context on the docs and databases you already have
- ✓ No copy-paste between tools
- ✓ Convenient for teams standardized on Notion
Cons
- ✗ No longer sold standalone; bundled into paid Notion plans
- ✗ Weaker generation than dedicated assistants
- ✗ You pay for it through Notion's per-seat pricing
Teams already living in Notion who want AI in-context on their existing docs and databases.
People shopping for a standalone AI assistant, which ChatGPT or Claude do better for the price.
